Dior Skincare Review

Dior is one of my favorite luxury fashion houses. I fell obsessed after buying my first pair of sunglasses and since I have fallen for the brand. However, I wanted to do an in-depth skincare review because I have tried a couple of things but have never done a review. So I got everything from cleanser to eye cream so I could check out the ingredients and formula to decide whether I would use it full time. To start, I got the oil to milk cleanser, which was an oil that changed to a soft white that cleansed without stripping my skin of moisture. After cleansing, I used the Pink Clay Mask, which was intensely fragranced and smelled like the Dior Sauvage perfume and also contained anti-microbial and alcohol. I was surprised that the mask had alcohol since the mask should gently remove dead skin, but with potent ingredients such as alcohol, it can easily irritate the skin. After removing the mask, my skin felt tighter, but it also felt like it was dying for hydration. The toner I got was intensely fragranced and irritated my skin. The Essence was also intensely fragranced, and I could smell it without even putting it on my face, and made me feel a little itchy. The Capture Youth Glow Booster has vitamin C; however, it was in a medicine dropper system, which is terrible for an unstable acid-like Vitamin C because it is susceptible to oxidation in systems that are not airtight. It claimed to target skin and make it glow and transform; however, it had alcohol that dries skin out and prevents your skin from glowing because it strips it of moisture, and it had an anti-microbial, which I definitely would not use in serum. The Hydration Rescue Moisturizer is a gel that I thought I would love but it had six different types of alcohol which I would never use in a moisturizer. It claimed to be a hydration gel that was not greasy, and of course, it would not be greasy with six types of alcohol that evaporate on your skin as they are drying. It also contained fragrance, which was very overbearing. The Capture Total Eye Cream that claimed to be a eye cream that hydrated and removed puffiness however it had BHT which is an additive that helps preserve fat however it can cause allergic reactions, which I don’t love around my eye because it is very sensitive. The eye cream also contained alcohol, which I'm not particularly eager to use around my eyes because your eye area is very sensitive. After going through all the products and ingredients, I was very underwhelmed and surprised that Dior skincare was mostly fragrance, alcohol, and anti-microbials. With all that in mind, the only thing I liked was the Oil to Milk Cleanser, and the rest of the products deserve a toss into the trash. They have a very long shelf life due to all the additives and Alcohol which can cause dryness, irritation, or allergic reactions. I am shocked that I didn't like this line, I feel like a younger more unaware version of myself might have just gotten everything and stuck to it based on the name and reputation of a house like Christian Dior. Thanks so much for reading xoxo -Chaz
